To say I enjoy delicious food would be a total understatement. I’ve always had a sweet tooth. Growing up, my mom always made family dinners, followed by scrumptious desserts most nights of the week. Whether it was an ice cream sundae, homemade cookies or a big slice of cake with her homemade fudge sauce, I attribute my home-cooked culinary point-of-view and love of well prepared food to my parents; my mother for putting the most delicious meals on the table and my father for teaching me how to indulge and appreciate it. Now, as a mother myself, I love to cook and bake for my family and my tendency to bake a cake for no other reason than I want to, has made my children my biggest fans. When anyone comes to dinner at our house, their first question is always, “what’s for dessert?”
Piece of Cake was founded in April 2011 after years of working and feeling unfullfilled in the practical, traditional 9-5 world. I’ve baked on the side as a hobby and on and off for local restaurants for years and finally decided to follow my passion after hearing over and over I should be making a living selling my cakes, cupcakes, pies and desserts. Since taking that leap and starting up Piece of Cake, I have experienced an outpouring of support and for that I am eternally grateful and more than a little humbled.
My mission is to provide completely from scratch treats that are impeccably crafted and delectable, without all the mess and work of doing it yourself.
